Easy to install

The first step is to remove the old cover from your key. This needs to be removed before the new cover is installed.
After you have removed your old cover Use a flathead screwdriver to pry out the four major attachment clips located on the side that is on the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are highlighted in red on the picture below. Take note of the yellow tabs that need to be deactivated.
Replace the battery with a # CR2032 coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should be facing the fob's opening and the "side that is "-" side should be facing the buttons made of rubber.
Reattach replacement fiat key by aligning the tabs that locate it. Once you've done this take the fob for the driver's side back into the vehicle and test it. Press the button at the front of the key. If everything is functioning properly the car should turn on the parking lights, and the doors will lock automatically.
Easy to remove

When you insert the key into your Fiat vehicle, it presses the ignition switch, which serves as an "key-in-ignition" reminder. The BCM can then read the transponder that is on the key fob to verify that it's valid.
